Part 1

The Herve DeMelun line first presented by Amos Carpenter in "The Carpenter Memorial."   has been regarded as a possible theory as to the decendancy line of this Carpenter family, but new information has been presented - it is now believed by present day genealogists that this line (Part I:  Josselin DeMelun  to  Robert Carpenter, 1545) are not direct ancestors of William of Rehoboth).  As per the  information posted on GEN FORUM on 12.22.2004 by John R. Carpenter about the current findings, I have decided to remove Part 1 (Josselin DeMelun, 910 AD of Melun, Siene et Mame)  of this genealogy.theory.  Anyone who is still interested in this material will still be able to find it in "The Carpentet Memorial."  by Amos Carpenter.

Part II
This Carpenter line from William, 1576 through Joshua Carpenter, 1740 has been researched by several well known genealogists, including Amos Carpenter "Carpenter Memorial" and George Raymond Carpenter, who corrected some of the assumptions first made by Amos Carpenter.
