*CARLSON, Roland: LEWISTOWN. MT - Roland "Rolly" "Popo" Carlson, of Lewistown, formerly of Billings, died Friday Nov. 5, at the age of 80, with his wife by his side. Rolly was born on March 21, 1914, in Lewistown, MT., to Fred and Lena Carlson. He attended schools in Lewistown and served in the army from Oct. 18, 1944 to Nov. 16, 1946. On October 16, 1948, he married Pauline Bowers of Hardin. After marrying and moving to Billings, he started his career in the agriculture industry, He worked with Allis Chalmers for 33 years, retiring in May of 1985. For fun, he spent many years in the mountains of Montana enjoying the freshwater lakes and rivers, hunting, snowmobiling, boating and camping. During his retirement, he dabbled in silversmithing, jewelry making, woodworking and spending his time with his six grandchildren. He spent his summers in Lewistown enjoying the cabin and his boyhood home, heading south for the winters in Arizona and Texas. He is survived by his wife Pauline; son Gary R. Carlson (of Billings) and wife Susan, grandchildren Gary Jr. and Emily; son Dale A. Carlson (Anchorage Alaska) and wife Rania and granddaughter Gabrielle; daughter Marilyn R. Childers (of League City, TX) and husband Tom and grand children Courtney, Kevin, Kelsey; his brother Floyd Carlson, one niece, four nephews and two great nephews. "Thanks for your years of humor, positive attitude and wisdom. We love you and will miss you very much, Your Friends and Family).

Died at Athens, Tenn, Feb. 19, 1944 at the age of 72 years. She was born in Angelica. NY and was the daughter of Richard and Eliza "Lowell" Carpenter, one of nine sisters. The only surviving sister, Mrs. Harriet Currier of Andrews settlement, PA. She taught school for over 50 years. Burial in Angelica.

CARPENTER, Della Eugene: 1895-1960 May 11th 1960 Funeral services for Della Eugene "Carpenter" Fystrom, 64, late of Weyburn, who passed away at Weyburn Union Hospital on May 5, were held from the Wyburn Grace United Church at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, with Rev. S. Herron officiating. Burial was in the Weyburn Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs. Fystrom was born June 2, 1895 at Bellwood, Nebraska and came to Canada in 1902 and to Weyburn in 1915, where she resided until her passing. Predeased by her husband, Ingle Fystrom in the year 1949, Mrs. Fystrom is survived by two sons, Frederick of Weyburn, Gustave of Weyburn, two brothers, Frank Carpenter of Nanaimo, B.C. and Roy Carpenter of Wetburn, three sisters; Mrs. Cleo Greer of Weyburn, Mrs. Dave Williams of Weyburn and Mrs. Roy Smith of Frederick, South Dakota.

CARPENTER, DELLA MAE "RANDELL": 1868-1944
Mrs. Della Mar Carpenter, one of The Weyburn Plains District pioneers died at the General Hospital on Saturday morning. Although she had been in poor health for several years, her death was sudden and a shock to her family and friends. She was born in Aurora, IL in 1869. Being 75 years of age, Mr. Carpenter predeceased her four years ago. She leaves two sons, Roy of Weyburn and Frank of Rock Glen, four daughters, Mrs. K. N. Greer, whom she lived with the past two yewrs, Mrs. D. H. Williams and Mrs. I G. Fystrom all of Weyburn and Mrs. Roy Smith of Frederick, S.D. who was unable to attend. She leaves 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The funeral was held from Clelands Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Mrs. C.G. Robertson obliging with a solo at the service. Rev. J. E. Stewart officiated. Internment was in Hillcrest Cemetery..

E.R. CARPENTER PASSES AFTER ILLNESS OF TWO YEARS
Ellison Richard Carpenter, a resident of David City, NE, departed this life Friday P.M., Nov. 30. a few minutes before 3:00. Mr. Carpenter had been in poor health for two years, but was bedfast for only two weeks prior to his death. His trouble was skin cancer.
Mr. Ellison had resided in Butler Co. over 45 years. He came in May, 1872, when this country was new, there being no towns in the county at the time, and located on a homestead nine miles north east of Rising City. This was his home until last spring when on account of failing health, he gave up farming and moved to David Cty
Mrs. Carpenter and seven children survive. Mrs. Carpenter who was Miss Mary Ann Hales, and Mr. Carpenter were married in 1881 in Butler Co. The children are; Roy W.., Hubert E., and Misses Lena M., Flossie W., and Helen E. Carpenter all living in or near David City, and Mrs. Mary Lott of Lewistown, MT. Mr. Carpenter's entire family was with him during his last illness. Mr. Carpenter is also survived by four brothers, Judson and Eugene of Bellwood, Aaron Carpenter of Rising City, and Charles of Lincoln, NE.
Born July 9, 1847, Mr. Carpenter had passed is 70th birthday anniversary. He was a native of New York, having been born in Angelica, Allegany Co.
At 2:00 p.m. Sunday, funeral services were held for Mr. Carpenter in the Carpenter residence in South David city.

MRS EVA CARPENTER DIES AT AGE OF 85
A well known resident of St. James, MO. died Saturday, July 12th, 1969. She was 85 years of age. Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of the late Geo. and Mary Stafford Cole, was born August 5, 1885 at Keysvulle, MO. On April 24, 1904, she was married to Robert W. Carpenter at Silgro, He preceeded her in death. Mrs. Carpenter is survived by two sons, Robert Carpenter of Overland and George Carpenter of Bartlesville, OK; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the Ladies Aid of the Methodist Church, the last surviving charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star #235. Funeral services were conducted Tues., July 15, at 2 p.m. at the Jesse Gahr Funeral Home. with Rev. Elmer Althoff officiating. Internment was in the Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were George O. Laun, Charles Smallwood, Alex Pompe, Jr., Nile Plemmons, Thomas Bohon, and Jim Davis. Arrangments by Jesse Garh Funeral Directors.

GERALD C. CARPENTER: of 8940 County Rd. 16, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004) in Wellsville Manor Care Center. He was born on July 8, 1924, in Bradford, PA., he was born on July 8, 1924, in Bradford, PA..a son of Clayton J. and Marguerite Manning Carpenter. On Jan. 17, 1948, in Fillmore, he married Lillian James of Short Tract, who survives. Gerald served three years in the Navy aboard various ships in all theatres of operation.He worked in various construction jobs and retired after 23 years from Foster Wheeler Co. og Dansville. He was a charter member of the Short Tract Fire Department and former Short Tract American Legion. He was also a life member of the Canaserga American Legion Post # 1582 and a charter member of the Birdsall Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children. David (Nancy) Carpenter of Fillmore, Rodney (Lisa) Carpenter of Birdsall, Daniel (Theresa) Carpenter of Canaseraga, Carl Carpenter of Birdsall, Carol Carpenter of Wellsville. Also surviving are two sons, Geral Truax and Scott Truax; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; on sister, Ann Marie Wheeler of Cansersga; two sisters-in-law, Florence Carpenter of Rochester and Dolores Carpenter of Hornall; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by tree brothers, William, Lawrence, and Donald Carpenter. At Gerald request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 11:00 a.m. in Short Tract. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Homecare 7 Hospice, P. O. CARPENTER, HENRY: Aged 75 years, verteran of the Civil War, a resident of Birdsall, NY, nearly all of his life, died at the home of his nephew, Moses Carpenter, on Friday, Nov. 2, 1917. Mr. Carpenter was, at one time, Supervisor of Birdsall and also held the office of town clerk. Funeral services were held on Sunday and the remains were brought to Angelica for burial.

CARPENTER, HUBERT: Former Butler County resident and for the past few years living in Kansas, died at Wray, Colorado, Sarueday, February, 15, 1933. Furneral services were held in David City at 2:30 tuesday afternoon. Rev. R. A. Richmond, pastor of St. Luke's M.E. church sang. Pallbearers were Hubert Benda, Cecil Hall, Ed Carpenter, Hulbert Carpenter, Glen Carpenter, and Merle Carpenter. Burial was in the David City Cemetery. Mr. Carpenter was age 41 yrs.., 3 monthsand 31 days. He was born in Butler County, October 22, 1891, and spent most of his life in this county with the exception of 10 years in Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father who died in 1917 and by his mother who died in 1931. He is suvived by one brother, Roy Carpenter, Miss Flossie Carpenter and Mrs. Eli Hinds of David City, Miss Myra Carpenter of Omaha, and Mrs. Fred Carlson and Mrs. Clarence Lott of Lewistown, Montana.

CARPENTER, JUDSON : July. 1845-Dec. 1922: Judson Carpenter, an honored soldier of the Civil War, passed away at his home Tuesday evening at about 9:00 o'clock. He was an old pioneer and had lived in Bellwood for many years. Funeral services were held Thurday afternoon at the Methodist Church at 2:30, conducted by the Rev. Randolph, pastor of the church.

* CARPENTER, LYNN "J": January 25, 1930-August 5th, 2004. Lynn Carpenter died Thursday, Aug. 5th, 2004 at the Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born January 25, 1930 in Bellwood, NE. He grew up there and graduated from Bellwood High School in 1947. He attented Omaha University for a year before entering the U. S. Air Force. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict years of 1949-1953. Part of his servicewas in Greenland. Following military service, he attended the university of Nebraska at Lincoln. He was employed by the Federal Trade commision in Washington D.C. until his retirement. He had been a Fremont resident for the last two years. Suvivors include a sister; Merlene Brandenburgh of Fremont; and a brother, Keith (and his wife Dawn) Carpenter of Lakeside, CA. The Rev. Mark Grorud will officiate at Wednesday's service. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery with military honors conducted by Bellwood American Leagur Post 327. The Rev. Mark Schutt will officate at the graveside Service.
CARPENTER, LOTTIE "DEWEY": Deceember /28.1933 Mrs. Lottie Carpenter passed away Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil Hall. She had been in failing health for a number of years and confined to her bed since Christmas day. Funeral services will be held Saturday ar 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, conducted by pastor, Rev. J. C. Street, and burial will be in the Bellood, NE, Cemetery.

LAURA P. CARPENTER PASSES AWAY HERE AT AGE 82
Mrs. Laura P. Carpenter, beloved daughter of John R. and Lucinda Craig was born February 1, 1862 and entered into rest early morning of Resurrection Day, April 9, 1944, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and six days. She became a pioneer school teacher and followed that profession for some years.
August 12, 1883, she was united in marriage to John W. Sutton, who departed this life April 20, 1909. She was later married to Robert C. Carpenter, September 11, 1911. He also preceded her in death, January 15, 1917.
Her surviving relatives are; nephew and nieces, Mrs. A. B. Estock, Mrs. Edward L. Shiebel, Mrs. Don Spradling, Mrs. J. M. Watson, E. J. Bertiaux., F. C. Bertiaux, Mrs. Dorothy Sourthard, Mrs. Mary Collins, Mrs. Helen Spurgeon, Donald Collin. One step-daughter, Mrs. Eva Carpenter, one step-son, Mr. R.R. Carpenter, one step-granddaughter, Mrs. Maxine Collins, two step-grandsons, Robert Carpenter and George Carpenter and Miss Polly Moran who has been a constant companion of Mrs. Carpenter for 13 years. Mrs. Carpenter was a faithful and devoted member of the Methodist here for many years. The pews were presented by her and her interest and prayers were unfailing till the very last.
Funeral services were conducted bat the Methodist Church, Tuesday April 11 at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. A.B. J. Baldridge. Internment in the Masonic Cemetery.
