"Richard WARFIELD settled near Annapoliis, MD in 1639.
By 1662 his estate reached to the Round Bay of the Severn. During his life he held the properties of Wayfield, Warfield's Right, Hope, Increase, Warfield's Plains, Warfield's Forest, Warfields Addition, Brandy and Warfield's Range. In his old age he began the first westward movement of the early settlements to the unexplored frontier of Howard Co. His sons resurveyed Warfield's Range and increased it to 1500 acres in 1704."
Founders of Anne Arundel and Howard Co.
Here, in Howard Co., theWarfield Family remained until the1890's when Randolph Ridgely Warfield, father of George Meredith Warfield (my grandfather), and his brothers had the remaining lands resurveyed and sold.
