  Children;  *Lottie Bell,  Nellie M., Ida Marie.
  Edward served in the Civil War and is buried in the Ft. Scott National Cemetery.
9. Lottie Bell Dewey              b 13 Sept 1856 in Jamestown, IN   d 28 Dec 1933 in Bellwood NE
m. 19 Feb 1876 to Judson Carpenter in Peppersville, NE
   Lottie had two sisters, 1.Nellie M. Dewey, born 27 Oct 1860 in Van Wert, Ohio
  &  Ida Marie Dewey, born 23 July 1867.

About Thomas Dewey, the Settler

Thomas Dewey was the first Dewey to live in the Colonies.  He is thought to have arrived on the ship  "Lyon" in February, 1630, when he was 16 years of age.  He is first mentioned in the Massachusetts Bay Colony Records in Aug. 1633.

family are buried here. Eleazer first bought 40 acres of land in MI on September 15, 1835.  He then bought 80 acres of land on May 1, 1839.
